The Valley Trails staff is comprised of more than 60 individuals, made up of directors, specialists, and counselors, all of whom have a strong desire to make a positive difference in a child's life. Our staff are selected based on strict criteria, and go through professional background screening.



Our staff are rigorously trained prior to and throughout the summer by the Valley Trails leadership team. All staff are trained in first aid and emergency procedures.

Mike Stillson Executive Director Mike Stillson (aka Otter) has been the director of Valley Trails Summer Camp for the past nine summers, and has been a professional in camping for over 22 years. Mike holds a BS in General Studies, and is former member of the Southern California Section of the ACA (American camp Association) Board of Directors. Mike is involved in all stages of planning, training, and leading of the programs on a year-round basis. Brian Jacoby Director Brian (aka Goat) brings over 18 years of camp and teaching experience to our program and is our Assistant Director, and directly oversees the Trail Blazers program. During the non-camp season, Goat is a third grade teacher at Valley Alternative School.

Jason Peck Program Director Jason Peck (aka Maple) has been with Valley Trails since 2006, and has been a professional in camping for the Past 14 years. Jason comes to us from Canada where he got his start at the second largest resident camp in North America. He has worked in multiple resident and day camps throughout Canada and the United States. He is a certified lead ropes instructor, and canoe instructor. During the school year Jason is a faculty member at Woodcrest School and oversees the after school program.
